Hello Munich, Germany!

Hotels to consider in Munich:

Since hotels are always a preference and it depends on the trip type, it’s always up to you to choose what suits you best. Here are a few hotels I liked/recommend:

A Perfect Blend of Culture, Nature, and Luxury! Lets do this:

Munich, the capital of Bavaria, is a city where history meets modernity, where green spaces blend seamlessly with luxury shopping streets, and where cultural landmarks stand side by side with contemporary attractions. Whether you’re a culture enthusiast, a nature lover, or someone who enjoys the finer things in life, Munich offers something special for every traveler. I’ve stayed two nights in Munich and it was cute! Not a place Id stay more than a weekend though.

Day 1: Explore Munich’s Historic Heart

Morning:
Start your Munich adventure with a visit to Marienplatz, the city’s central square. Marvel at the New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) with its famous Glockenspiel, which chimes and reenacts stories from Munich’s past. After soaking in the atmosphere, take a short walk to the Frauenkirche (Cathedral of Our Dear Lady), Munich’s iconic twin-domed church. Another way to explore the day in Munich is to hire the Ricksha ride. I enjoyed it alot!

Afternoon:
For lunch, head to the nearby Viktualienmarkt, a lively outdoor food market offering a variety of local delicacies (Not suitable if it’s raining!). Afterward, immerse yourself in history at the Residenz Munich, the former royal palace of the Bavarian monarchs. Its opulent rooms and extensive art collections offer a glimpse into the grandeur of Bavarian royalty. (Or go home to rest!)

Evening:
Conclude your day with a luxurious dining experience at Schwarzreiter Tagesbar & Restaurant. Located in the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski, this Michelin-starred restaurant offers a modern take on Bavarian cuisine in an elegant setting. Another dinner option is to enjoy a nice dinner at Kempinski Hotel which i loved.

Day 2: Cultural Exploration and English Garden

Morning: Nymphenburg Palace

Begin your day with a visit to Nymphenburg Palace, a magnificent Baroque residence that was once the summer home of Bavarian royalty. Explore the opulent rooms, stroll through the stunning gardens, and visit the Marstallmuseum to see an impressive collection of royal carriages.

Lunch: Café in the Palace Grounds

Enjoy a light lunch at one of the charming cafés within the palace grounds. The serene setting and picturesque views make it a delightful spot to relax. I’ve stopped at a cafe called Frauen (i think? lol) If not then the name is whats displayed in the images below.

Afternoon: English Garden (Englischer Garten)

Next, head to the English Garden, one of the largest urban parks in the world. Take a leisurely walk or rent a bike to explore its vast green spaces. Don’t miss the iconic Chinese Tower, where you can stop for a refreshing beverage at what they call ‘the beer garden’. For an extra touch of luxury, consider a private picnic arranged by one of Munich’s upscale catering services.

Evening: Fine Dining at Tantris

For dinner, I tried and enjoyed Izakaya for my fellow sushi lovers! The duck spring rolls also were deliciousssss! Other option you could check out is Brenner Restaurant.

Day 3: Art and Relaxation (Or just go shopping)

Morning: Alte Pinakothek

If you’re into art, dedicate your morning to exploring the Alte Pinakothek, one of the oldest and most important art museums in the world. Home to an impressive collection of European paintings from the 14th to the 18th centuries, the museum’s extensive works by masters like Rembrandt, Rubens, and Dürer will captivate art enthusiasts.

Lunch: Relax at the Park Café

After immersing yourself in art, enjoy a relaxing lunch at Park Café, a stylish eatery near the museum. Its chic décor and modern menu provide a perfect break before your afternoon activities.

Afternoon: Spa Day at The Ritz-Carlton

Treat yourself to a pampering session at The Ritz-Carlton Munich’s spa. Book a rejuvenating massage or enjoy some time in the sauna and pool area. The luxurious amenities and serene atmosphere will help you unwind and prepare for your evening.

Evening: Evening Cruise on the Isar River

End your Munich adventure with a tranquil evening cruise on the Isar River. Enjoy the peaceful ambiance as you glide past the city’s landmarks. For a touch of elegance, consider arranging a private boat with a catered dinner for a romantic and exclusive experience.

Otherwise, Id dedicate this day to walk around, finish my steps and shop. Ive spotted really nice shops around the city!

Day trip from Munich: Lake Tegernsee | By train or by car almost an hour a way

Lake Tegernsee is a super beautiful lake with stunning views and really nice to visit when its sunny! (highly advisable to visit on the weekend – check the weather forecast ahead of time!)
