Again in beautiful Bali! (Where to Stay?)

Super happy to be back in Indonesia again! My last time was 2 years ago, and my summary from that visit was here: https://www.hello965.com/my-4-days-visit-to-bali-indonesia/

This time, the Embassy of Indonesia in Kuwait, in coordination with the board of tourism invited me to go and explore beautiful Indonesia again .. This time to see the Capital Jakarta, and Bali.

This post is about Bali, and focused mainly on the areas to stay there.

During my trip In April, i’ve experienced different hotels, passed by or thought were interesting.. and there are some of them:

In Ubud (Sanctoo Villa, Viceroy Ubud, Kamandalu) In Jimbaran Bay: Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay

Things I’ve done for the first time:

  • Bali Swing (There are 4 swings as far as I know and most if not all are in Ubud)
  • Tirta Empul Holy Water Temple
  • Goa Gajah Temple (Elephant Cave)
  • Lunch at Mount Batur Volcano (checkout the volcano area!)
  • Dinner at Ayana Resort Rock Bar (But I recommend you to go for Sunset… Stunning!!)

That said, let’s explore where to stay in Bali?

There are different areas in Bali to consider, so let’s check how they’re divided (I did not explore all of them, just some!):

South Bali جنوب بالي

South Bali is the closest area to the airport, and it includes Kuta, Western Bukit and Uluwatu, Canggu, Denpasar, Jimbaran, Legian, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Seminyak, and Tanah Lot. This is the most visited part of the island. What I explored from this list is Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Legian, Nusa Due and Seminyak!

Central Bali منتصف بالي

Central Bali includes Ubud, Gianyar, Bedugul, and Tabanan. This region is the cultural heart of Bali and the central mountain range. I’ve stayed in Ubud more than once, and absolutely love the hotels there! If you are aiming to go for a yoga retreat, a honeymoon or a nature connection sort of trip then Ubud is your place! If you are staying for a while in Bali, don’t miss it!

West Bali غرب بالي

West Bali includes Negara, Gilimanuk, Medewi Beach, and Pemuteran. You have here access to ferries to Java and the West Bali National Park. (The Unexplored terrain, not touristy with many locals around, prices are much cheaper too!)

North Bali شمال بالي

North Bali includes Lovina, and Singaraja. You can enjoy quiet black sand beaches and the old capital city. Usually, Yoga retreats are here!

East Bali شرق بالي

East Bali includes Amed, Besakih, Candidasa, Kintamani, Klungkung, Mount Agung, Padang Bai, and Tirta Gangga. Here, you can discover another atmosphere with laid back coastal villages, an active volcano and the mighty Mount Agung. a 3 hour flight from Bali would also take you to the Indonesian amazing diving Island: Raja Ampat

Southeastern Islands الجزر الجنوب شرقيه

Southeastern Islands includes Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan. These quiet offshore islands in the southeast are very popular for diving activities. Nusa Penida is where most people (on instagram) take amazing pictures on a cliff.
