Solo Trip to Uganda!

I’ve decided to visit Uganda, on a solo trip!

Every year, I aim to target one new African country at least! It is my least visited continent it seems when I started looking into my visited countries for some reason! I’ve allocated more time to revisit destinations ive enjoyed which kind of had me allocate less time to new destinations!

So here we go, I’m back at it starting the year with a new one and in Africa; Uganda!

Uganda is located in East Africa, bordered by South Sudan to the North, Kenya to the East, Tanzania to the South, Rwanda to the Southwest and Democratic Republic of the Congo to the West.

You can see the Big Five (African Cape Buffalo, African Lions, African Leopards, Southern White Rhinos, African Bush Elephants) in the country.

A landlocked country with breath-taking landscapes, flora. Winston Churchill named Uganda – the pearl of Africa in 1908, due to it’s vast scale, profusion of birds, insects, reptiles and fascinating cultural heritage making it one of the top destinations for and African Safari.

It is one of the best settings for the adventurous spirit seeking first-hand wildlife experience.

The country is one of the few places on earth where you can still find the endangered Mountain Gorilla. It is estimated that half of their population lives in Uganda(in both Mgahinga and Bwindi Empenetrable National Park).

Visa

Visa for GCC Nationals can be obtained on arrival – Always verify this information based on your travel dates as things can change rapidly in the world of travel!

With that said; I always advise to do an online visa whenever the option is available! I did my online visa prior to arrival and immigration went super smoothly! Online visa website: https://visas.immigration.go.ug

I’ve spent a total of a week and compressed a schedule where I visited 2 areas; The Falls and the National Park for the Gorillas! The community and road was long, but I was okay with it because that’s what I wanted basically.

Seasons in Uganda

Uganda has 2 seasons that is Wet and Dry seasons

Dry seasons are June to August & December to February

Average temperatures during this period is around 27°C in the afternoon and 16°C in the morning. However, It will be colder at altitudes above 1,300m/4,265ft, including the gorilla parks.
